FAMILY / GROUP PHOTOS

Ok, whether you like or dislike a family photo, it’s a very important part of your BIG DAY!  There are many reasons why you need some family photos… I think you all know what I’m talking about.  To put it in simple terms, it’s a memory to share for a very long time.  Some who aren’t around for much longer are instantly there as a memory.  Especially grandparents.  We all love them, and they play a significant role in our lives.

When I started out capturing Weddings, to be completely honest here I did not enjoy them at all.  Why? Because I couldn’t logistically get everyone together!  With many client meetings, I always suggested to my clients that they should have a designated person (someone who is reliable), who can get all the families together for photos.  It was never successful!  Do you want to know why?  Everyone is literally living the moment (and so they should be) and the last thing on their minds is getting families together for a photo.  So I thought, bugger it I’m not going to bother with coordinating this anymore as it epically fails every time!

I wasn’t taking the negative approach, I just thought it’s obviously not a priority for anyone… So I thought I’ll try at my next Wedding where I’ll just coordinate it whilst we are all ‘living in the moment’!

Apart from your client meetings, I always discuss the importance of family photos.  I think you’d all agree that 99% of the time family photos are very important.

Over the years, I have done a bit of school photography and shot a lot of groups. With this experience, I have carried it over into my Wedding Photography.

So what I’m trying to say here is, I can create a bloody damn good family/group photo.  I can get everyone in the right order, looking nice and symmetrical, no heads hiding behind anyone, with a sweet backdrop, and with the best light.  We want you all to look awesome in these shots!  Even if you don’t really care how good they look, for me they have to look good as it will be such a worthy addition to your big day.  Here are some examples you can check out.
